Donald Trump is coming to Michigan to celebrate his first 100 days in office – and the only people excited about it are the Republicans trying to join him in Washington to continue his reckless MAGA policies.
While Michigan families face layoffs, price hikes, and plunging consumer confidence, GOP Senate candidate Mike Rogers, and other hopefuls expected to jump in the Michigan Senate race, including Bill Huizenga and Tudor Dixon, are fighting for the chance to be Trump’s #1 fan – even as his MAGA policies tank the state’s economy and threaten Medicaid for over 2.6 million Michiganders.
“These Republicans are tripping over themselves to bear hug Trump while Michigan’s working families are stuck footing the bill for his failing policies,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Nico Delgado. “Rogers, Huizenga, and Dixon aren’t fighting for Michigan – they’re fighting for a shoutout from a chaos agent who’s killing jobs, hiking prices, and slashing Medicaid.”
Let’s recap what Trump’s “America Last” agenda has done for Michigan so far:
- Stellantis layoffs are hitting auto workers hard, fueled by rising costs from Trump’s reckless tariffs.
- Unemployment is surging, reaching levels not seen since the pandemic.
- Consumer confidence in Michigan has cratered, ranking among the lowest levels ever recorded.
And yet, here come the Michigan GOP hopefuls lining up like it’s a MAGA casting call:
- Mike Rogers says he wants to be “the ally Trump needs in the Senate” and practically begged for a Trump endorsement.
- Bill Huizenga said he was “glad” Trump was stopping in Michigan for his 100-day stop and said he’s running to “fight for President Trump’s agenda.”
- Tudor Dixon gushed about standing with Trump and suggested she can help Trump enact his economy-killing agenda at the federal level.
