Name any repulsive character attribute and there is a good chance RFK Jr. has an endorsement from a celebrity who embodies it. RFK Jr.’s celebrity row is a shameful lineup of sexual predators, anti-LGBTQ bigots, racists, and conspiracy theorists.
This week, Kevin Spacey, who faced more than two dozen accusations of sexual misconduct or assault, endorsed RFK Jr. in a social media post saying, “When the world turned its back on me, Bobby leaned in.” Spacey was accused of making inappropriate sexual advances on a minor, multiple instances of sexual assault, and more than 20 instances of inappropriate workplace behavior. RFK Jr. signaled an acceptance of Spacey’s endorsement by reposting it to his nearly three million followers on Twitter/X.
Spacey isn’t the first celebrity accused of sexual violence to endorse and be embraced by RFK Jr.:
- His campaign is set to host a fundraiser on May 15 with Russell Brand, a conspiracy theorist currently under investigation for sexual crimes committed against multiple women.
- Tony Robbins, a motivational speaker who RFK Jr. considered as his running mate, has been accused of sexually harassing and assaulting multiple women dating back to the 1980s.
- Eight women have accused actor Jeremy Piven, another RFK Jr. supporter and fundraiser host, of sexual assault and misconduct.
RFK Jr.’s celebrity endorsers are also infamous for their hate speech and willingness to support violence:
- Comedian Adam Corrolla, who fundraised with RFK Jr. earlier this year, made several homophobic remarks in the past, including that LGBTQ parents were “not as good as” heterosexual parents.
- Comedian Rob Schnider, who last year had his offensive set for the Senate Working Group cut short after a senator walked out, once tweeted that people should use their Second Amendment rights to refuse a COVID-19 vaccine.
- RFK Jr. released a rap collaboration with rapper Torrance Icy “Lil Boosie” Hatch Jr. who is known for making homophobic statements, including saying gay rapper Lil Nas X should “commit suicide.”
- RFK Jr. released a rap collaboration with rapper Tab “Turk” Virgil Jr. who was charged with first-degree attempted murder after allegedly shooting and injuring two deputies during a drug raid.
Of course, RFK Jr. is also endorsed by harmful celebrity anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists:
- RFK Jr. and his wife held a fundraiser in April with Jenny McCarthy and her husband, the former New Kids on the Block member Donnie Wahlberg. McCarthy was an early and prominent anti-vaccine activist who dangerously implied her son’s autism was a result of vaccines.
- “Clueless” actress Alicia Silverstone, who in 2014 defended vaccine opponents and falsely claimed that “there has not been a conclusive study of the negative effects” of vaccine schedules, endorsed RFK Jr.
