Today, American Bridge 21st Century announced they are planning to spend $200 million — including $140 million in paid spending — over the course of the 2024 cycle. $85 million of that fundraising has already been raised and committed to the program as of January 2024.
American Bridge is making a 360-degree effort to defeat Donald Trump. In addition to their paid programming, the organization will continue to run its successful, core opposition research work — including the Trump Research Book and Repro Files — that helped beat Trump in 2020 and has dismantled countless extremist GOP campaigns.
American Bridge is also punching back against third-party candidates and efforts who seek to throw the election to the disgraced former president. Based on ongoing research, American Bridge and its partners are tripling down on their work with terrestrial and streaming radio programs in battleground states where they can reach key communities and areas that are critical in this race.
The $140 million paid media program — which will include television, digital and streaming ads, radio, and direct mail — will target the key battleground states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and potentially North Carolina.
Built after months of American Bridge conducting in-depth research into swing-state voters, this paid media program will focus on the key voting bloc that data says has decided American elections in recent cycles, especially post-Roe — women. These ads will feature the true stories of women voters and their families living in these key swing states and will use their voices to expose the truth about Trump’s agenda.
Uniquely in the paid media landscape, through its robust in-state organizing program, American Bridge has directly recruited hundreds of people living in these critical swing states who have stories to tell about the danger of another Trump presidency, providing them the platform to share those stories widely.
Whether it’s Trump’s extreme anti-abortion policies, his treasonous and anti-democratic embrace of authoritarianism like voters saw on January 6th, or his plans to obliterate Social Security and Medicare as Americans know it, this program will showcase the true stories of people in these states and how another Trump administration would cost them, their families, and their communities.
