Abortions For Me But Not For Thee: Herschel Walker’s Hypocritical History of Anti-Abortion Comments

Oct 04, 2022

According to a bombshell report from the Daily Beast“100% pro-life”, “from the womb to the tomb” Georgia Republican U.S. Senate nominee Herschel Walker paid for an ex-girlfriend’s abortion in 2009 — despite wanting “to completely ban abortion, likening it to murder and claiming there should be ‘no exception’ for rape, incest, or the life of the mother”.

Here is Walker’s comprehensive anti-abortion agenda, which apparently doesn’t apply to him:

  1. Walker opposed reproductive rights, and said he was “100% pro-life” “from the womb to the tomb.”

  2. Walker supported Brian Kemp and Georgia Republicans’ restrictive abortion ban.

  3. Walker said he believed that abortion should be illegal, including in the cases of rape, incest, and the life of the mother.

  4. Walker supported overturning Roe v. Wade.

  5. Walker supported requiring women seeking abortions to get mandatory ultrasounds.

  6. Walker spoke and profited off of crisis pregnancy centers, fake clinics that spread blatant disinformation to manipulate women into making medical decisions under false pretenses.

  7. Walker supported the Texas vigilante-style abortion ban that punishes providers.

  8. Walker welcomed the Supreme Court Decision overturning Roe v Wade and said “I won’t apologize for erring on the side of life.”

  9. Walker claimed that his anti-abortion agenda was a personal issue for him because “I come from a church town.”

  10. Walker tweeted a Bible verse supporting a ban on abortion.

  11. Walker said he would support Lindsay Graham’s federal abortion ban.

  12. Walker said “I believe in life and there are no excuses about it. I believe in life

  13. Walker said “there’s not a national ban on abortion right now and I think that’s a problem.  I’m pro-life and I’m not going to make an excuse for it.”

While Walker is denying the story in the “strongest possible terms,” since announcing his campaign, he has repeatedly been caught lying, raising serious questions about whether he can be honest with Georgia voters.

Walker’s lack of integrity is such a problem that even his closest advisors “stopped believing him long ago,” have “‘zero trust in the candidate,” and think he is a “pathological liar” unfit, unprepared, and unable to serve in the U.S. Senate.
