Republicans have started talking about their plan to gut Medicaid, and that’s a huge problem for Virginians.
Virginia has a trigger law to automatically end Medicaid expansion if federal funding is cut — meaning that 636,000 Virginians could lose access to health care if Republicans go through with their plan.
“Rob Wittman, Ben Cline, Jen Kiggans, John McGuire, and Morgan Griffith — with the support of Glenn Youngkin — all voted for the Republican budget package that paved the way for Medicaid cuts, and they’re going to be the reason 636,000 Virginians lose their health care,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Monica Venzke. “As if raising costs on literally everything they need wasn’t enough, Republicans have decided to make sure Americans can’t afford health care, either. They ran on fixing the economy and helping people. They’ve done the opposite of both.”
