Two (Racist) Wrongs Don't Make A (Non-Racist) Right

This morning, a Donald Trump surrogate defended Trump’s racist attacks on Judge Gonzalo Curiel, adding his opinion that Curiel inherently supports “illegal immigration” because of his heritage.

Not to be out-done, Rep. Duncan Hunter, one of Trump’s first congressional endorsers, similarly weighed in on Trump’s attacks on Judge Curiel. According to BuzzFeed News, Hunter compared Curiel to “a Muslim-American of Iraqi descent” presiding over a trial for “Chris Kyle, the American sniper” — where Hunter, in an extremely racist supposition, suggests the judge’s background would prevent him or her from rendering fair judgment.

But don’t worry, these Trump supporters’ racist defenses of Trump’s own racist comments don’t mean Donald Trump is racist.

Trump’s openly racist butler promises “there isn’t a racist bone in his body.”
