Trumponomics is Failing: As the U.S. Sheds Jobs, Trump Hides Data

Oct 01, 2025

The latest ADP National Employment Report shows the Trump economy is losing jobs, not creating them. In September, private-sector employment fell by 32,000, and the number of jobs created in August 2025 was revised from 54,000 to -3,000, a sign of major stress in a labor market that is stalling under Trump’s policies.

Instead of facing reality, Trump is blocking the release of official Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data during the Republican government shutdown and withdrawing his nazi-ship admiring nominee to lead the BLS. Americans may have to rely on private reports, such as ADP’s, just to gauge how poorly the economy is performing.

Key takeaways from the ADP report:

  • Private-sector employment dropped by 32,000 jobs in September.
  • Manufacturing and construction lost a combined 7,000 jobs.
  • Service-providing industries, including hospitality and business services, shed a combined 28,000 jobs last month.
  • Working-class families in the Midwest are getting hammered in Trump’s economy. 63,000 jobs were lost in the region alone last month.

“Donald Trump’s economy is collapsing, but instead of fixing it, he’s shutting down the government and hiding the truth. While Trump lies to Americans about the state of the economy, families are watching jobs vanish and costs soar in real time,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Brandon Weathersby. “You can hide data, but you can’t hide the sticker shock at the grocery store, or the high cost of health care, or rising shelter and energy costs Americans face each month. Families are watching Trump refuse to fund health care and fail to bring down costs across the board, all while they work harder than ever before, but still struggle to make ends meet. They know this economy isn’t working for them, even if Trump tries to hide the truth.”
