Trump Opposes The Federal Minimum Wage

Aug 08, 2016

Forget raising the federal minimum wage, if Donald Trump gets his way, there won’t be a federal minimum wage at all. When Trump was asked in May if the “federal government [should] set a floor,” he made his position very clear: “No, I’d rather have the states go out and do what they have to do.”

But that shouldn’t have come as a surprise to anyone, because Donald Trump’s on multiple occasions insisted that “wages are too high — apparently indifferent to the fact that minimum wage earners pulling in $15,000 per year are living in poverty.

Donald Trump pretends he’s for working families, but he’s only ever been in it for himself, from Trump University, which targeted seniors, single parents, and veterans, to his willingness to stiff small business owners and co-investorswhile he made millions.

The real Donald Trump doesn’t have workers’ best interests at heart — he’s selfish, he’s exploitative, and his only real concern is padding his own wallet.
