This F*cking Guy’s National Security Adviser was a Liar and a Traitor

Feb 13, 2024

Seven years ago today, Donald Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Flynn, resigned after it was revealed that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence and other top White House officials about his conversations with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the United States.

In 2017, after working as a national security adviser for the Trump administration for less than a month, Flynn was forced to resign after admitting to giving “incomplete information” regarding a telephone call he had with the Russian ambassador about American sanctions just weeks before Trump’s inauguration. Previously, Flynn denied that he had any substantive conversations with Ambassador Kislyak.

The Justice Department uncovered Flynn had not been truthful about his conversations with the ambassador and warned that Flynn could be vulnerable to blackmail by Putin and the Kremlin.

Flynn is one of several Trump allies to resign disgracefully, face a federal indictment, or serve time in prison.

On the anniversary of Flynn’s resignation, American Bridge 21st Century Presidential Campaigns Communications Director, Brandon Weathersby, released the following statement:

“Trump once said he would only hire the ‘best’ people to fill his administration and almost immediately failed on his promise when his national security advisor was exposed as a liar and a traitor to his country. Flynn isn’t just a rogue actor or a bad apple — the truth is that Trump surrounds himself with people who have a stronger loyalty to him than they do to their fellow Americans. It is why at least 11 Trump allies have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to various crimes. We’ll make sure that Trump doesn’t come near the White House ever again because he can’t be trusted to hire patriotic adults who will put the country first.”

American Bridge’s “This F*cking Guy” campaign is reminding voters of key moments from Trump’s presidency as he pursues the GOP nomination in 2024. Our Trump Research Book website exists to help allies find the research needed to defeat Donald Trump. The site is organized into multiple reports designed to help tell the full story about Trump’s failed presidency and make the case against his 2024 campaign.
