This F*cking Guy: Trump’s Friends Are Criminals

Aug 21, 2023

On this day in 2018, Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer, pleaded guilty to charges relating to campaign finance violations. Cohen paid Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal “hush money” to stay silent about their affairs with Trump, and stated that he did so on Trump’s orders.

That same day, Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, was convicted of financial fraud crimes. These charges stemmed from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged collusion between Trump’s campaign and the Russian government.

In response, American Bridge spokesperson Monica Venzke released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s circle of friends surely took bets on who could get the most felony indictments — though now, Trump’s own rap sheet might rival their own. His inner circle is full of criminals doing his dirty work, but now that so many of them are behind bars, he has to continue the law-breaking himself.”

American Bridge’s “This F*cking Guy” campaign is reminding voters of key moments from Trump’s presidency as he pursues the GOP nomination in 2024. Our Trump Research Book website exists to help allies find the research needed to defeat Donald Trump. The site is organized into multiple reports designed to help tell the full story about Trump’s failed presidency and make the case against his 2024 campaign.
