You read that right. We agree with Ted Cruz on something: the Washington establishment is lining up behind Donald Trump.
Of course, we did it say it first. So, maybe it’s just Cruz with agrees with us? Either way, the Washington establishment is Trumped up and ready to go:
- New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte, who was also endorsed by Sarah Palin, has refused to distance herself from Trump’s candidacy for months, calling it “a positive thing.”
- Ohio Senator Rob Portman agreed that Donald Trump is qualified to be president and said Trump’s message is “very compelling.”
- Nevada Senate candidate Joe Heck agreed that Trump’s stance against birthright citizenship should “be part of the discussion,” even though he might not be an American without it.
- Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey agreed that Trump’s candidacy is resonating, saying “I understand it.”
- North Carolina Senator Richard Burr said, “Donald Trump has done a tremendous job. I think Donald Trump has brought a level of passion to running for office that I’m delighted to see.”
- Arizona Senator John McCain said he respects Sarah Palin’s decision to endorse Trump and that he will support Trump if he’s the Republican nominee.
- Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson agreed with Trump that Cruz’s citizenship should be looked into and once compared himself to the businessman saying, “I think what’s resonating about Donald Trump… is appealing about my candidacy.”
- Colorado Senate candidate Robert Blaha said, “I think Donald Trump is doing a great job.”
- Florida Senate candidate Ron DeSantis has “received contributions from Trump.”
- Florida Senate candidate Todd Wilcox called Trump “a masterful entertainer.”
