Senator Susan Collins has made it clear: she has no regrets voting to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – a lifelong anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist who is slashing our nation’s efforts to cure cancer – to oversee the health and safety of millions of Americans.
When asked by CNN if she had any second thoughts about backing RFK Jr., Collins responded with a blunt, “No.” No concerns, despite his decades-long crusade against science, vaccines, and basic public health measures.
Since taking office, RFK Jr. has canceled or frozen billions of dollars for life-saving cancer and Alzheimer’s research, purged the CDC’s vaccine advisory committee, pushed fringe pseudoscience like removing fluoride from drinking water, and made our country less prepared for public health crises. This is what Susan Collins rubber-stamped – and she’s just fine with it.
“This isn’t ‘concerned Susan’ trying to thread the needle – it is complicity and dangerous negligence,” said Nico Delgado, spokesperson for American Bridge 21st Century. “She voted to put a reckless conspiracy quack in charge of the nation’s health, and now Mainers – and all Americans – will pay the price.”
