QUICK CLIP: Rick Scott's Enterprise Florida Buddies Pay For His Campaign Ads

Apr 04, 2017

Gov. Rick Scott is spending big on a new TV ad to boost his pet slush fund for big businesses, Enterprise Florida.

Now a new investigation by WFTV shows the money is coming from “the same companies that were giving campaign cash to Governor Rick Scott’s Let’s Get To Work committee are the same companies who have active contracts with Enterprise Florida.”

The report shows the same companies that are handed millions in Florida taxpayer money by Rick Scott are turning around and giving that money to Rick Scott so he can promote… even more taxpayer giveaways.

Watch the report:

Transcript:

The governor paid for this ad with his political committee, Let’s Get To Work. But we dug even deeper, and discovered that some of the same companies that were giving campaign cash to Governor Rick Scott’s Let’s Get To Work committee are the same companies who have active contracts with Enterprise Florida. Meaning they’re using your tax dollars to help fund their business expansion. Publix is one of them. Five contracts. Eight years worth. Totaling more than three million dollars.

You may be asking yourself why the governor’s political action committee still so active since he was reelected three years ago to a second term…A clear sign perhaps that Governor Scott soon wants to be Senator Scott. Campaign records show Lets Get To Work has been “Let’s Making Some Money,” taking in over $2 million so far this year alone.
