Mike Rogers is running for Senate (again) – and he’s proving he’s more interested in pleasing Trump than standing up for Michigan. Instead of fighting for Michiganders’ health care, Rogers is defending extreme Republican cuts that would rip away coverage and shut down hospitals across the state. If he were in the Senate today, Michigan families would be in even more danger.
Here’s what Rogers’ party’s cuts mean for Michigan:
- 200,000 Michiganders will lose Medicaid coverage.
- $2 billion in Medicaid funding lost over the next decade.
- 3 rural hospitals on the brink of closure putting communities at risk
Rogers is backing the cuts, not Michigan:
- Defended the GOP bill and tried to claim they “aren’t cuts.”
- Dismissed the threat to rural hospitals and refused to acknowledge the harm caused by the GOP bill.
“Mike Rogers doesn’t need to be in the Senate for Michiganders to know exactly where he stands, and it’s not with them,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Nico Delgado. “While Rogers lies and spins, Michigan families are staring down lost health care and shuttered hospitals. He’s not a defender of Michigan, he’s a rubber stamp for cruelty.”
