Today, Donald Trump is visiting the Granite State, just days after he pitched a sham maternity leave and child care plan, insulting women across the country. But Senator Kelly Ayotte won’t back away from her support of Trump.
Even as the conservative-leaning Union Leader skewered Trump, calling him a “a liar, a bully, a baffoon” who “denigrates any individual or group that displeases him,” Ayotte keeps embracing the GOP nominee.
It seems like every other day, Senator Ayotte is finding another area of agreement with Donald Trump. Just like Trump, Ayotte’s been behind wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing legislation that appears to help working mothers but is really just another Republican “empty promise.” Just a few weeks ago, talking about trade the senator called him “a much stronger negotiator.” On national security, she also said Trump can keep “the country safe.”
Senator Ayotte’s support for Trump isn’t about what’s best for New Hampshire, it’s about what’s best for Kelly Ayotte. The Washington insider is too worried about keeping her seat in Congress warm to care about Granite State working families.
