John Cornyn and Ken Paxton may be tearing each other apart in a bloody primary, but when it comes to hurting Texas families, they’re completely aligned. Both are proudly backing the extreme GOP cuts that are stripping health care from millions, slashing funding for Texas schools, and killing jobs across the state – all while pretending to put “Texans first.”
Here’s how Cornyn and Paxton are making Texas worse:
- 1.4 million Texans are losing their health care.
- Up to 1 million more could lose coverage thanks to GOP refusal to extend ACA tax credits.
- $863 million in federal funding lost, slamming Texas schools and job programs.
- USAID gutted, costing Texans jobs, research opportunities, and millions in grants.
Cornyn and Paxton made it happen and they’re proud of it:
- Cornyn voted for the Big Ugly Law and claimed it put “Texans first” even as over a million Texans lose coverage.
- Cornyn praised the DOGE cuts, calling them just a “starting place” while jobs were wiped out across Texas.
- Cornyn supported eliminating USAID, killing off Texas-based research and jobs.
- Paxton praised the Medicaid cuts in the Big Ugly Law.
- Paxton thanked Elon Musk for the DOGE cuts and mocked Texans facing the fallout.
