ICYMI: AB21 President Pat Dennis on The Julie Mason Show

Mar 07, 2024

Yesterday, American Bridge 21st Century President Pat Dennis joined SiriusXM’s The Julie Mason Show to discuss his take on the Super Tuesday results and the upcoming State of the Union address.

Listen to the full interview here.

Key Quotes:

  • “We were expecting a competitive Republican primary where we thought maybe somebody would successfully make the argument against Trump over there. And except for Haley in the last few minutes, nobody really did it. They ran for office on a platform of, ‘Trump’s great, but I would also like to be elected,’ which is really not a winning message, as we discovered.”
  • “My organization, American Bridge, will be doing a lot of advertising in the key swing states to really target those folks in particular and say like, ‘Hey, these things that you’re concerned about, like, they’re real concerns.’ And maybe you live in an area where there’s not a lot of Biden voters. Maybe you think the things that you’re thinking, it’s only you who think that, but we’ll be up there on TV, saying, ‘Here are your neighbors, here are folks that look just like you and they have the same concerns and we need to vote against Trump in November.’”
  • “This woman, Katie Britt, who’s a senator down in Alabama, I think it’s really interesting. I think she embodies a lot of the problem that these Republicans have right now where she’s seen as like a communicator on the issue of abortion, on the issue of IVF — all these incredibly unpopular and controversial things that have come out of Republican policy…I think they see her as solving the problem of communication. Like, as if these issues with banning IVF in the courts and taking away women’s rights is somehow a communications problem. And what we know in reality is that these are policy problems and they’re really important, meaningful policy problems.”
