At last night’s final Virginia governor’s debate, Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin explained to voters his plan to enact a far-right Trumpian agenda if elected. Youngkin — who said he would back Trump in 2024 months after the former president incited a terrorist attack on the Capitol — was exposed for having an agenda that includes ending vaccine mandates, relitigating Donald Trump’s “Big Lie”, signing anti-abortion legislation, and defunding Planned Parenthood.
Watch a debate recap HERE.
“Youngkin maintained his opposition to vaccine mandates — despite poll after poll showing broad bipartisan support for the requirement — reiterated that reproductive freedom would be on the chopping block should he become governor, and tried to downplay his connection to Trump, despite feeding election conspiracy theories and being “honored” by the former president’s endorsement,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Aidan Johnson. “After last night’s debate, it’s clearer than ever that Glenn Youngkin is not ready to lead Virginia. We can’t afford a far-right Trump extremist in office.”
