American Bridge President Jessica Mackler released the following statement on the Trump Administration’s plans to gut consumer protections and help banks to exploit the American people:
“Another day, another broken promise from President Trump as he continues selling out American working people. Rather than draining the swamp, Trump flooded it — stacking his cabinet with more major campaign donors and Wall Street executives than any other recent president. The Trump Administration is a dream come true for Goldman Sachs and Wall Street, who have been trying to repeal consumer protections for years, but it’s a punch in the gut for average Americans who lost their homes and postponed retirement as big banks tanked the economy in 2008.”
