Ben Carson just said that he would nominate a Supreme Court Justice in the last year of his presidency…
But Ben Carson, like the rest of the GOP presidential field, made it clear last Saturday that he does not believe the Senate should allow the confirmation of a Supreme Court justice before the end of President Obama’s term.
Despite President Obama’s very clear constitutional duty to fill Supreme Court vacancies, Carson had this to say: “We should not allow a judge to be appointed during his term.” Meanwhile, Carson also admitted that there wouldn’t be this kind of partisan obstructionism if there was a Republican in the White House — the hypocrisy is palpable.
Are these shameful political games the kind of leadership South Carolinians are looking for?
