Arizona Republican U.S. Senate Candidates Line Up Against Build Back Better

Nov 04, 2021

As Mark Kelly Leads On Lowering Prescription Drug Costs

A new report from KPNX-TV highlights U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly’s role in fighting to ensure that the Build Back Better Act includes a provision to allow Medicare to negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs, lowering drug costs for seniors. It’s just one way that President Biden and Democrats’ Build Back Better Act will lower health costs for Arizonans, on top of creating millions of good-paying jobs and growing the economy from the bottom up and the middle out.

In sharp contrast to Sen. Kelly’s leadership on the issue of lowering prescription drug costs, the Republican Senate candidates brawling for a chance to run against Kelly are lining up against the Build Back Better Act, despite its provisions’ broad bipartisan support and extremely popular policies like the Kelly-backed Medicare price negotiation.

“At the end of the day, Arizonans want results, and Democrats in Congress are focused on getting things done to improve their lives, with Mark Kelly leading to make sure that happens with the Build Back Better framework,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Brad Bainum. “That’s a stark contrast with Republicans like Mark Brnovich, Blake Masters, and Jim Lamon, who are lining up against these popular investments in lowering health care costs, jobs and infrastructure, and tax cuts for families — and instead hyper-focused on impressing Trump and spreading lies about the 2020 election.”
