American Bridge Vice President Shripal Shah released the following statement on this afternoon’s White House press briefing:
“Nearly everything Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at the briefing today was a lie. Donald Trump repeatedly pressing the FBI Director about the ongoing investigation into his campaign’s connections to Russia is all the evidence reasonable people need to conclude that Trump is abusing his power.
“Here’s the reality: Trump is not above the law and his efforts to obstruct justice and potentially tamper with witness testimony cannot be tolerated. Only an independent commission or special prosecutor can truly investigate this scandal free of political influence on behalf of the American people, and every Republican who stands in the way of this type of investigation will be held accountable by the public.”
