American Bridge Statement on Tom Price’s Senate Confirmation Vote

Following Tom Price’s Senate Confirmation vote, American Bridge President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“Tom Price is a case study in how to use your Congressional Office to benefit yourself but sell out the American people.  Republicans have shown little regard for government ethics under the new administration, but turning a blind eye to Tom Price’s corrupt and potentially illegal dealings while in Congress represents a new low.

“Millions of Americans stand to lose their health care with Tom Price leading the Department of Health and Human Services, but Price, himself, will surely use his new position of power to line his own pockets. As a doctor, Tom Price made a promise to help others and do no harm. It’s a shame he won’t make that same promise for his new position in Trump’s cabinet.”
