American Bridge President Jessica Mackler released the following statement on Donald Trump’s rambling and racist “foreign policy” speech that sought to exploit a tragic mass-shooting for his political benefit:
“Devoid of substance and full of lies, Donald Trump’s ‘foreign policy’ address couldn’t be saved by his use of a teleprompter. Trump continued to gloat over ‘being right’ about the most devastating mass-shooting in this country’s history, then spent the rest of his speech preaching more of the same anti-Muslim and immigrant xenophobia that won him the Republican nomination. But no amount of fearmongering is enough to hide that Donald Trump is a foreign policy amateur with the temperament of a two-year old, and fundamentally unfit to be Commander-in-Chief. Donald Trump is an embarrassment and an existential threat to our national security.”
