American Bridge President Jessica Mackler issued the following statement on Donald Trump’s suggestion that President Obama puts the interests of our enemies over those of the American people:
“Whether with racism, misogyny, or shameless fear-mongering, Donald Trump continues to prove he’s fundamentally unfit to be commander in chief. Trump yesterday insinuated that the president was complicit in terrorist activity. Now, Donald Trump is questioning President Obama’s loyalty outright — suggesting that he prioritizes the interests of our enemies over those of the American people. It’s an unconscionable and ridiculous claim, and a notion that’s wildly irresponsible and dangerous, approaching treasonous. Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell disgrace themselves by standing by Trump and his unsubstantiated and deeply offensive attacks on the President’s integrity.”
