No Trump jobs ‘deal’ can be taken at face value. Last time Trump claimed to have secured a great victory for American working people, he gifted Carrier millions in taxpayer-funded incentives to keep outsourcing jobs, then set up the company to further replace some of the non-offshored jobs by transitioning to automation.
American Bridge Vice President Shripal Shah released the following statement on Trump’s jobs announcement:
“Donald Trump is a lying con artist and when it comes to creating jobs, nothing he says can be taken at face value. Today’s announcement is no exception. When you ignore his rhetoric and look at his record, it’s clear that he’s done nothing to rebuild our country’s infrastructure and has no real jobs agenda.
“Trump only cares about making more money for himself. That’s why he’s focused on taking away millions of Americans’ healthcare and cutting his own taxes, rather than advancing a substantive jobs plan, and it’s why Trump refuses to acknowledge the over 145,000 American workers given pink slips since he took office.
