For the second night in a row, Donald Trump proved tonight that he has no plan to defeat ISIS.
Since before he officially launched his campaign, Donald Trump has claimed to have “an absolute way of defeating ISIS” that would “be very beautiful,” but he has made a game of refusing to tell the American people what it is.
While evading specifics of his plan to combat ISIS, Trump has also repeatedly suggested that he doesn’t actually have a plan — rationalizing that it’s “other people’s fight,” not ours.
Trump has no foreign policy know-how, is blinded by his own hubris, and lacks any semblance of a plan for dealing with ISIS.
Here’s a sampling of Trump’s incoherent ramblings on how he’d take on ISIS — or wouldn’t?
Trump in May, 2015: “I do know what to do and I would now how to bring ISIS to the table, or beyond that defeat ISIS very quickly — and I’m not going to tell you what that istonight.”
Trump in June, 2015: “I have an absolute way of defeating ISIS, and it would be decisive and quick, and very, very beautiful.”
Trump in July, 2015: “That’s not our fight; that’s other people’s fight.”
Trump in September, 2015: “Let Syria and ISIS fight…Why do we care?”
Trump in October, 2015: “I would sit back and let’s see what’s going on.”
Trump in November, 2015: “I know more about ISIS than the generals do. Believe me.”
Trump in March, 2016: “I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things.”
So Trump’s big, beautiful plan is to set a deadline for the generals–who he thinks know less about ISIS than he does–to come up with a strategy? Donald Trump’s lack of seriousness–playing the game of “I have a beautiful plan but won’t tell you”–demonstrates that he lacks the seriousness and capability to combat a global threat like ISIS.
