The latest jobs report exposes the real impacts of Trumponomics and the pain Americans have been struggling with ever since Trump took office. Job totals from June and May were revised down a combined 258,000 jobs from previously announced levels – and unemployment rose to 4.2%. In addition, 11,000 manufacturing jobs were lost last month.
The incredibly weak jobs report comes just days after the Federal Reserve refused to cut rates while “uncertainty about the economic outlook remains elevated,” and “inflation remains somewhat elevated.”
“Trump spent months bragging about job numbers that weren’t real. Now the truth is out that Trumponomics is all smoke and mirrors, and working Americans are the ones getting burned,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Brandon Weathersby. “Trump’s trade war, corporate giveaways, and chaotic economy are dragging us toward stagflation, but he’s too busy building a $200 million ballroom for his billionaire friends to care.”
