Trump Economy Mass-Layoffs At 132,200+

Jul 06, 2017

In conjunction with tomorrow’s Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report for the month of June, American Bridge is highlighting the latest TrumpEconomy.com tabulation of announced layoffs since Donald Trump took office.
Since January 20, over 132,269-and-counting American workers have been told that they’re going to lose their jobs, but Trump still hasn’t put forth a jobs plan or followed through on his key campaign promise of introducing a large-scale plan to rebuild our country’s crumbling infrastructure.

A Boeing factory Trump visited to promote his jobs agenda has since laid off workersa pharmaceutical company whose CEO Trump met with has outsourced positions, and Trump still won’t share the details of his Carrier “deal” that gifted Carrier millions in taxpayer-funded incentives, even as it keeps shipping American jobs to Mexico.

Job growth has slowedthe economy is sluggish, and American workers continue to be laid off, but Donald Trump is pretending like everything is just fine,” said American Bridge President Jessica Mackler. “Trump promised he’d ‘bring back jobs’ and he’s dishonestly claiming that he’s done so, but that’s no surprise from a lifelong con man and liar who’ll say anything and sell out anyone to get rich. It’s a slap in the face for working families fighting to get ahead.”
