American Bridge President Jessica Mackler issued the following statement as Donald Trump concluded his address to the Joint Session of Congress:
Trump’s speech tonight would have been impressive had the last year and a half never occurred. But back here in reality, they did – and the American people won’t be fooled. The country knows that Donald Trump’s agenda might result in 20 million losing their healthcare, they know that he can’t be trusted to work for our middle-class, and they know that his reckless foreign policy actually makes our country less safe and secure. Those are facts, and those facts won’t be changed by 90 minutes of lies and empty rhetoric.
