RELEASE: American Bridge Names President & Campaign Director

Apr 04, 2011

WASHINGTON — David Brock today announced he has named Rodell Mollineau as President of American Bridge 21st Century. Mollineau, a seasoned political and communications strategist, recently left the office of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid where he served as Staff Director of the Senate Democratic Communications Center (SDCC). As president, Mollineau will lead the overall efforts of the Super PAC and its companion 501(c)(4) foundation to build a permanent progressive counterweight to the outside Republican groups that took hold of the electoral process in 2010.

Brock also announced that he has named Bradley Beychok, a campaign veteran from Louisiana, as the group’s Campaign Director for the 2012 campaign cycle.

“Rodell’s years of developing national message campaigns and leading high-level communications operations will help us build American Bridge into a premier research and communications organization to hold Republicans accountable for 2012 and beyond,” Brock said.

“Bradley’s vast political knowledge and ability to win tough elections will not only help progressives level the playing field but will give us the advantage we need to take the upper hand in the 2012 elections and change the political landscape for the better,” he added.

Mollineau spent the last four years as a senior aide to Reid overseeing the day to day operation of the SDCC, directing the long-term message development and rapid response strategy of the Senate Democratic Caucus and working closely with the White House, House Leadership and members of the progressive community to coordinate message and strategy. He has served two prior tours of duty on Capitol Hill and is a veteran of several statewide and presidential elections.

American Bridge is closely aligning its research and communications activities with the newly formed Majority PAC, which is focused on winning critical Senate races and is being led by an unparalleled team of Senate strategists including JB Poersch, Monica Dixon, Rebecca Lambe, Jim Jordan, Craig Varoga and Susan McCue.

McCue, former long-time Chief of Staff to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, praised Mollineau’s communications and campaign skills.

“Rodell is an incredible asset, and I am excited to have him leading American Bridge.  He has a well-earned reputation as an effective communications and messaging strategist.  Under his direction, American Bridge will build a highly sophisticated national research and communication operations to reinforce all of our campaigns and the entire progressive infrastructure.”

Beychok most recently served as campaign manager for Rep. Charlie Melancon’s hard-fought campaign against incumbent Sen. David Vitter. (R-La.) in 2010. In 2008, Beychok directed the successful coordinated campaign for Sen. Mary Landrieu.

“Bradley Beychok is one of the most talented campaign operatives in Democratic politics.  He’s aggressive, experienced, and has spot-on political instincts.” said Democratic strategist James Carville. “I know that Bradley will wage one heck of a campaign to fight the Republicans and I’m excited to see American Bridge in action.”

American Bridge 21st Century, a Super PAC chaired by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, was founded in 2011 to become a permanent piece of the progressive infrastructure.
