Republicans have started talking about their plan to gut Medicaid, and that’s a huge problem for Hoosiers.
Indiana has a trigger law to automatically end Medicaid expansion if federal funding is cut — meaning that over 750,000 Hoosiers could lose access to health care if Republicans go through with their plan.
“Todd Young, Jim Banks, Rudy Yakym, Marlin Stutzman, Jim Baird, Jefferson Shreve, Mark Messmer, and Erin Houchin all voted for the Republican budget package that paved the way for Medicaid cuts, and they’re going to be the reason over 750,000 Hoosiers lose their health care,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Monica Venzke. “As if raising costs on literally everything they need wasn’t enough, Republicans have decided to make sure Americans can’t afford health care, either. They ran on fixing the economy and helping people. They’ve done the opposite of both.”
