Mike Collins enters race after voting to take health care away from 750,000 Georgians
Georgia’s GOP Senate primary just got messier. With Mike Collins entering the race, Republicans have officially handed the reins to a far-right, Trump-worshipping nepo baby who is more focused on online trolling than solving real problems for Georgia families.
Collins is just another swampy, self-dealing politician – one who didn’t just vote for Trump’s Big Ugly Bill – he helped lead the charge as part of the GOP’s whip team. The consequences are devastating: the bill will leave over 750,000 Georgians uninsured and slash $540 million from rural hospitals across the state. Collins chose party politics over the health and livelihoods of Georgia families – and now he wants a promotion.
Instead of standing up for Georgia, Collins is doubling down on Trump’s disastrous tariffs that are actively hurting the state’s economy by driving up prices, squeezing small businesses, and punishing farmers.
“Mike Collins isn’t running to serve Georgia – he’s running to serve Trump. Whether it’s cutting Medicaid or praising economy-crushing tariffs, Collins has proven he’ll always put Georgia working families last,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Nico Delgado. “He’s just another entitled, self-serving politician who’ll sell out working families to pad his own pockets.”
The ugly truth about Mike Collins’ record:
- Repeatedly voted to gut Medicaid and voted for the Big Ugly Bill which will leave over 750,000 Georgians uninsured and slash $540 million from rural hospitals across the state.
- Called for raising the retirement age for Social Security.
- Wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act and put 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions at risk of losing coverage.
- Praised Trump’s economy-wrecking tariffs and voted to strip Congress’ ability to stop them, despite the damage to farmers and small businesses.
- Violated the STOCK Act by failing to report crypto trades.
- Took a $920,000 PPP loan, and then turned around and funneled $531,000 into his own campaign.
- Put his own workers at his trucking company at risk after a DOT review showed nearly 30% of his trucks were flagged as unsafe – far above the already high national average of 22.1%.
