With each round of voting, with the exception of Puerto Rico, your vote total has gone down. Your percentage is now down to single digits in some states, ones in which you were previously competitive (e.g. Michigan). You are trailing by double digits in your home state — before the poor showing on Tuesday. Florida insiders friendly to your cause do not think you can win.

Stay in and you risk losing your state, ending your career on a terrible note and getting blamed for taking just enough away in states such as Ohio and Illinois to give Donald Trump, a man you have all but said is unfit for office, the nomination.

On Monday, CNN aired a report that advisers in Senator Marco Rubio’s campaign were discussing whether to withdraw from the presidential race. Sitting in a meeting, Rubio’s spokesman, Alex Conant, leapt out of his chair and sped across town to the cable station’s Washington studio to denounce the story as “nonsense” and “100 percent false.”
But if those conversations weren’t taking place before today, they need to happen now.

“Super Saturday” ended up being a Saturday night massacre for Marco Rubio. The establishment’s landslide choice to win the GOP nomination no longer seems capable of even finishing in second place. If the Florida senator wants to salvage his political career, it is time that his quixotic quest for the White House comes to an end.
