Bridgegate Governor A Wounded, Scandal-Ridden Attack Dog

Jul 19, 2016

“Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.”

In a pathetic attempt to distract from his scandal-ridden administration, Chris Christie attempted to go on the attack tonight. Christie is reviled in his own state and his term as governor has been consistently marred by corruption.

The lane closures in Fort Lee were orchestrated by a top Christie appointee at the Port Authority, David Wildstein, and Christie’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Bridget Anne Kelly.

Two other high-ranking Christie appointees at the Port Authority, Bill Baroni and Port Authority Chairman David Samson (who just plead guilty to shaking down airlines for favors), as well as the campaign manager for Christie’s 2013 reelection campaign, Bill Stepien were also implicated in the plot.

Within a week, the U.S. Attorney for New Jersey had launched a criminal investigation into the lane closures. Christie has spent $7.8 million dollars in taxpayer money to defend against the investigation; an investigation that has led to multiple trials which include “undisclosed unindicted co-conspirators.”
