American Bridge spokesperson Joshua Karp released the following statement in response to Senator Corker’s announcement that he won’t seek re-election in 2018:
“Let’s be clear: Senator Corker retired because he knows 2018 is shaping up to be a disastrous year for Republicans who are careening from one self-inflicted crisis to another. Confronted with an unprecedented rebellion in their own party, and a total failure to govern despite one-party control in Washington, Republicans incumbents are rightfully terrified of facing voters next November. Now, they’re even retiring to avoid accountability from the public.”
