American Bridge Launches TrumpReleaseYourReturns.com

Today, American Bridge launched TrumpReleaseYourReturns.com, calling on Donald Trump to end his glaring lack of transparency on his tax returns. Every major presidential candidate since 1976 has made their returns public — yet Trump seems to think he’s above such disclosure expectations.

American Bridge President Jessica Mackler released the following statement on the launch of the new website:

“Donald Trump’s staunch refusal to release his tax returns makes him less transparent than Richard Nixon, who disclosed his under-audit returns in 1972. Let that sink in for a moment: Next to Donald Trump, Tricky Dick looks like a paragon of transparency.

“Both Democrats and Republicans — including Mitt Romney — have said it’s incumbent upon Donald Trump to be honest with the American people. We agree: Voters deserve to know whether or not Trump pays his fair share in taxes, for example, or if he’s too cheap to give to charitable causes. Donald Trump for months promised to release his tax returns, and the public has a right to know why he’s backing off that pledge.”
