Following the Trump Administration’s executive action implementing an unconstitutional Muslim ban, American Bridge President Jessica Mackler joined calls to postpone the confirmation hearing of Rex Tillerson and released the following statement:
“We have no way of knowing if Trump’s Secretary of State will actually uphold American values and principles or if he’ll join this administration’s efforts to derail the Constitution with reckless policies like banning Muslims from our country. Simply put, that is unacceptable. Until Mr. Tillerson assures the public he is up to the task, the Senate — including Republicans opposed to this dangerous executive order — should take no further action on his nomination.”
