Today marks the 100th day since President Joe Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law. To mark this historic progress the Biden-Harris Administration has made in putting America back on the road to recovery, American Bridge 21st Century co-chairs Governor Deval Patrick, Tom Perez, Cecile Richards, and Governor Steve Bullock, and President Jessica Floyd released the following statements:

“Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, Americans can see brighter days ahead after the dark night of sickness, job loss and fear,” said Governor Deval Patrick. “Leadership matters — Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Democrats in Congress are delivering just the leadership we need.”

“After a devastating year, President Biden’s American Rescue Plan has been a lifeline for millions of workers,” said Tom Perez. “From the $1,400 relief checks to expanded paid leave, the Biden-Harris administration, along with Democrats in Congress, fought to ensure that the benefits of the American Rescue Plan went to those who needed it most, not those at the top. The result has been more than two million new jobs, the fastest growing economy in nearly four decades and a long-term unemployment rate at its lowest level since the start of the pandemic. Help is here for workers and Joe Biden is just getting started.”

“Since the start of this pandemic, nearly 2 million women have been forced out of the workforce and millions more struggled to make ends meet. Thankfully President Biden, Vice President Harris and Congressional Democrats took those challenges head on, expanding access to childcare, family leave, and affordable health care while putting shots in arms and checks in pockets,” said Cecile Richards. “The American Rescue Plan is lifting millions of children out of poverty, keeping families in their homes, and helping women reenter the workforce. It has been an indispensable relief for women, children and families over the last 100 days and the impact of this legislation will be felt for a generation.”

“In the 100 days since its passage, President Biden’s American Rescue Plan has made critical, targeted investments in rural America, providing billions in funding for rural health care, increasing the resiliency of the food supply chain, and delivering direct relief to farmers and small business owners,” said Governor Steve Bullock. “For the rural and tribal communities that have borne the brunt of this pandemic, the legislation has been a godsend, saving lives and livelihoods alike. Thanks to the leadership of President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats in Congress, the American Rescue Plan continues to deliver real, sustainable help to rural America and those who call it home.”

“From a mom running a small business in Virginia to a special education teacher in Pennsylvania, from a restaurant owner in Arizona to a retired Marine in Georgia, the American Rescue Plan has generated countless stories of rescue, recovery, and hope over the last 100 days,” said American Bridge 21st Century President Jessica Floyd. “American Bridge 21st Century will continue to lift up the voices of those who have been able to save their small business, pay their bills, and make ends meet thanks to the leadership of President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats in Congress. We will ensure that voters in key swing states know that in the face of unanimous opposition from Congressional Republicans, the Biden-Harris administration delivered help to those who needed it most while defeating a global pandemic and putting the economy on the road to recovery.”
