Today, on the third anniversary of the Dobbs decision, we want to remind you exactly what Virginia gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears plans to do if elected.
From supporting implementing a Texas-like heartbeat bill in Virginia, to refusing to rule out criminal penalties for abortion care providers, to spreading debunked conspiracy theories about (nonexistent) post-birth abortions, American Bridge 21st Century has compiled clips of Winsome Earle-Sears’ anti-choice comments going back years in one handy-dandy playlist.

“Winsome Earle-Sears wants Virginians to forget her comments on reproductive health care, but it’s our job at American Bridge to make sure that doesn’t happen, because these dangerous views and policies kill women when they’re implemented,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Monica Venzke. “The commonwealth deserves a governor they can trust to protect their families, health, and rights — and we’re making sure voters know that governor will never be Winsome Earle-Sears.”
As a reminder, Winsome Earle-Sears:
- Recommitted herself to the anti-choice movement as the keynote speaker at the Virginia March for Life. Alongside other anti-abortion extremist groups and activists, she promised, “We’re not going to give up… we’re not going to quit.” In the same speech, Earle-Sears said to women who had abortions that “your child is waiting for you in heaven.”
- Cast the tie-breaking vote in the Virginia Senate to kill a bill that would create a right to access contraception in Virginia.
- Said she morally opposed abortion, and that she opposed exceptions for case of rape and incest.
- Referred to abortion as “murder,” “infanticide,” and “wicked.” She has also described abortion as “another form of slavery,” “genocide,” and “barbaric.” She claimed Black women who chose abortion fulfilled the mission of the Ku Klux Klan and racist eugenicists.
