VIDEO: Trump and Republicans Fail on Health Care Promise, Leave Americans Paying the Price

Oct 28, 2025

Donald Trump and Republicans promised to bring down health care costs, but now that they control the White House and Congress, they’re failing to deliver. Instead of making health care more affordable, their actions this year have actively broken that promise, leaving American families facing higher costs and reduced coverage.

According to an analysis done by the Washington Post, the average Affordable Care Act premium will rise by 30% thanks to Republicans’ refusal to fund health care and extend critical health care tax credits, sending prices soaring for up to 17 million Americans. Additionally, millions of small-business owners and families are facing an average $1,500 increase in health insurance premiums next year.

It’s just the latest blow in the GOP’s ongoing assault on health care. This summer, Republicans voted for over $1 trillion in cuts to the health care system in the so-called Big Beautiful Bill to pay for $1 trillion in tax cuts for billionaires. In addition, deep reductions to staffing levels at the Department of Health and Human Services have further weakened access to care for vulnerable populations.

In response, American Bridge 21st Century is launching a new video calling Republicans out for breaking their promises on health care. The video highlights the direct impact these policy failures have on families, small-business owners, and households that are already struggling to pay for care.

Families and households are paying the price for the GOP’s health care failures. Instead of lowering costs as promised, Trump and Republicans have made health care less accessible, leaving millions of Americans to struggle to afford the care they need.
