Randy Feenstra Votes Against Affordable Health Care for Iowans

Jan 08, 2026

Today, Randy Feenstra voted against extending the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits, blocking an extension that helps working families afford health coverage. Feenstra’s vote sides with Washington Republicans over Iowa families who rely on affordable health insurance.

Feenstra’s opposition means higher premiums for tens of thousands of Iowans, leaving families, seniors, and small business owners paying far more each year just to stay insured.

“This vote wasn’t about lowering costs or improving health care — it was about taking affordable coverage away,” said Tiffiany Vaughn, spokesperson for American Bridge 21st Century. “Randy Feenstra chose party politics over Iowa families, knowing that his vote would raise premiums and put coverage further out of reach.”

Feenstra’s vote is consistent with his long record opposing the Affordable Care Act and standing against efforts to make health care more affordable for Iowans.

Randy Feenstra’s Health Care Record

  • Feenstra opposed Affordable Care Act subsidies and offered market-based proposals without concrete protections for patients and cited market competition and cash-payer discounts as health care reforms, while offering no specific plan to protect people with pre-existing conditions
  • Feenstra voted for the final version of the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which would cause 17 million Americans to lose their health care

Feenstra’s voting record continues to send a clear message: protecting affordable health care for Iowans isn’t a priority.
