Gas Prices Surge As Trump’s Bomb Fallout Hits Pumps

Jun 25, 2025

Just in time for summer road trip season, Americans are feeling pain at the gas pump after Donald Trump decided to escalate military tensions in the Middle East.

According to an analysis by GasBuddy, the average price of gasoline increased for the second straight week, rising an average of 9.7 cents.

In the last week, Michigan saw gas prices surge by 20 cents, while prices at the pumps in Texas and New Hampshire increased by 12 cents. In Tennessee, drivers paid 11 cents more to fill their tanks.

The data shows diesel fuel prices also recorded their largest weekly jump since August 2023 at an average of 16.1 cents in the last week. In the last week, Wisconsin saw a 28-cent increase in diesel prices, and drivers in Ohio, Nebraska, and Indiana paid 22 cents more per gallon on diesel.

GasBuddy predicts prices will continue to rise steadily and warns that the national average is “likely to increase another 7 to 15 cents this week, while diesel could rise by 10 to 20 cents.”

“Americans were promised lower energy prices, an end to two major international conflicts, and no more new wars. It only took Donald Trump five months to break all three of those commitments, and he’s not done betraying his commitments to the American people,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Brandon Weathersby. “Trump is upending the economy with conflicts in the Middle East and tariffs with our biggest trade partners, but it’s Americans who pay the bill.”
