Knowing that re-election was a lost cause, AZ-01’s David Schweikert decided to join the already Trumpy and extreme Republican gubernatorial primary in Arizona.
“You may know David Schweikert as the guy who said that women who get abortions ‘hate the country‘ or the guy who refuses to interact with his constituents, but we know him as the guy responsible for making life unaffordable for Arizonans,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Monica Venzke. “He would abandon Arizonans on the 9th floor just like he has in Washington. From eliminating Medicaid and cutting Social Security to shilling pro-tariff bullshit, if Trump wants it, and it would make things more expensive at home, David Schweikert is all in.”
David Schweikert has made it clear that he’s okay with economically ruining his constituents. He:
- Called for “more cuts” to Medicaid and SNAP in the “Big Beautiful Bill”
- Repeatedly voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act
- Supports Trump’s tariffs, even as his constituents show how much it’s hurting their small businesses.
- Spends taxpayer money on his mail while trying to cut spending we actually need
- Called constituents’ fears of losing their health care because of the “Big Beautiful Bill” whining and the bedwetting
