Today’s Producer Price Index (PPI) report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics reveals what families already know: prices are still climbing, and the pain isn’t going away.
The “core” PPI rose for the fourth straight month and is up 2.8% over the past year, the largest jump since March. That means the underlying costs of goods and services are still rising, and businesses are continuing to pass those costs directly onto families.
“This report makes clear that inflation is still simmering beneath the surface,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Brandon Weathersby. “And the reason is simple: Trump’s reckless tariffs and economic chaos are driving up costs at every level of the supply chain. From groceries to electric bills, families are paying the price for policies that benefit no one but Trump’s political ego.”
The details of the report show price increases in essentials like processed materials, beef, poultry, and electric power — the very goods and services families rely on most. Overall price change momentum continues upward, leaving Americans squeezed between stagnant wages and rising costs.
Trump promised to bring prices down, and, instead, his failed economic policies have trapped families in a cycle of higher costs and fewer choices. Trump is sowing economic chaos, and it’s hitting every household in America.
