Arizona congressman and candidate for governor, Andy Biggs is once again proving that his principles bend whenever Donald Trump is involved. In newly resurfaced comments, Biggs explicitly said that drug trafficking did not give the United States “the cause to go in” to Venezuela, only to reverse course and praise President Trump for doing exactly that.
In the earlier remarks, Biggs acknowledged Venezuela’s long-running humanitarian crisis but drew a clear line against U.S. intervention, even when discussing drug trafficking:
“The bottom line is that still would not give us the cause to go in,” Biggs said, referring to Venezuela, even while noting drug trafficking concerns.
Yet on January 3, 2026, Biggs publicly applauded Trump’s actions toward Venezuela, abandoning his own stated position and embracing the very intervention he said lacked justification.
